I just stayed with my boyfriend for 2 weeks at safa surfcamp in Arugam Bay. We had the best time with Favas and his team either in the water or at gatherings in the camp. The camp is situated just in front of the beach which allows you a swim into the sea at anytine you wish.
I learnt more about surfing as expected and improved my surfing skills a lot. I appreciated the way they taught us with their friendly and open nature. We felt absolutely welcome and will for sure come back as soon as possible.
What an amazing place!! Fawas the proprietor is so friendly, helpful, kind and knowledgeable! We stayed here for a week as a surf group and had a wonderful time! We even came back a month later (sadly Safa was fully booked so we stayed nearby, but came back as friends to see Fawas, he even did an impromptu cookery class with us one evening and had a fun time playing Carrom).
Right on the beach front so can walk out into the sea, and even surf foamies right in front of the hotel on bigger swells. You can also see main point surf break from here so have an idea if waves are pumping.
Fawas also knows the area and surf breaks so incredibly well you can get the best surf information and lessons from him and his team, it is 100% the best place to stay in Arugam Bay if you want to surf! 🤙
