You’ll discover the epic right-handers of Arugam Bay in the East and the bustling surf culture of Ahangama on the South Coast – with heaps of adventures in and out of the water in both locations.
You’ll kick off this epic Sri Lanka surf trip in Arugam Bay – one of the most famous surf spot in Sri Lanka and home to some world-class right-hand points where your expert coaches will help you make the most of the waves – whether you’re already confident in the water or learning to surf.
Soak up the views on the scenic drive through the beautiful Sri Lankan countryside en route – and keep an eye out for the local elephants chilling as you drive by!
Alongside the amazing waves in Arugam Bay, you’ll also enjoy sunrise yoga sessions, explore the National Park, and some local excursions – allowing you to see a little more of what makes this part of Sri Lanka so special.
For the second part of the trip, you’ll head to Ahangama in the South West of the country, where you’ll experience some of the coast’s best waves from your base in this bustling fishing village.
You’ll hit the waves with some of the best surf coaches in country and whether you’re learning the basics or wanting to push your skills to the next level, they’ll help you progress your surfing.
When it comes to iconic waves in Sri Lanka, nothing beats A-Bay! Long, reeling points will serve up some incredibly long rides, so be ready for heaps of fun!
Right in front of the Ahangama Surf House, Sticks is a really fun, semi reef break – perfect for pushing your skills to the next level and practicing steeper take offs
A friendly, deep reef wave with an easy beach entry, Marshmellows is the ideal wave to help you progress from the white water to clean, unbroken waves.
Throughout your 3 week trip you’ll also score some epic waves at a variety of other breaks too!
After being collected from Colombo Airport you’ll head across to the East Coast of Sri Lanka – the land of right hand point breaks! Arugam is home to one of the longest and most perfect right hand point breaks in the world and is easily the most famous spot in Sri Lanka. You’ll also explore plenty of the local area too, including Kumana National Park and Pottuvil Lagoon.
