Amy’s Place sits on the beachfront near Krui — a stretch of South Sumatran coastline that packs more quality surf into a short drive than almost anywhere in Indonesia, and has somehow managed to stay well off the mainstream radar.
The property is an acre of garden, coconut trees and hammocks, with eight rooms, a pool, and a front-row seat to the Indian Ocean.
With a maximum of 14 guests at any one time, it never feels crowded — which is exactly the point.

Season: Peak season is June to September — bigger swells, trade winds, and the best of the barrel breaks. Shoulder season (March–May, October–November) brings smaller, cleaner surf — often ideal for progression and technique work. Low season (December–February) still delivers at the beach breaks and west-wind waves.
Six breaks within 3km of your room. When conditions at one spot aren’t right, something else almost always is — the coastline faces enough directions that there’s surf available in almost any swell or wind combination.
The Slab Out Front Right outside the property. A heavy, consequence-laden wave for experienced surfers only — not one for the faint-hearted, but extraordinary when it goes.
Leftovers A fast, fun left-hander in the immediate area. Good for bodyboarders and surfers alike.
The Peak A backdoorable right-hand barrel alongside a thick-lipped left. Two waves in one.
Krui Bowls A bowly, barrelling left — punchy and consistent.
Krui Left The standout wave of the immediate Krui area. Mechanical barrels, a long playful wall, and super consistent. One of the better waves in the region regardless of conditions.
Krui Right A racy, playful wave that keeps things interesting when the swell is up.
