Looking to complete your surf instructor course in Australia?
When it comes to learning to surf in Australia then Byron Bay is the place to head – this famed little hippie town in Northern NSW is one of the top surf destinations in Oz!
With gentle, rolling waves and heaps of surf spots to suit all levels of surfer, learning to surf in Byron Bay offers up plenty of opportunities to push your skills to the next level as well as explore and enjoy one of the most famous coastal towns in the country
And this 3 month Byron Bay surf instructor course with the crew of Mojo Surf gives will take you from zero to hero – where you’ll live the eat, sleep, surf, repeat dream and really feel the stoke of Byron!
Based out of the famous Arts Factory Hostel (yes the one from the Inbetweeners 2 movie!) in the dedicated surf camp dorm you’re just a short stroll in the centre of Byron Bay itself, so you’re never far from the action.
You’ll also head down the coast for a month of your course and stay at the beachfront Spot X Surf Camp – with empty, rolling waves just a stones throw away.
You’ll be living the surfer dream and under the watchful eye of your professional and experienced instructors (inc ex WSL tour veterans!) where you’ll master all the skills you need to get out there and enjoy the waves as well as complete the ASI Level 1 surf instructor course.
With both land and water based lessons you’ll gain confidence in the waves, learning about the ocean, the sport and taking the leap into a lifestyle that, with no doubt, will change how you see the world, as well as turning it into your new career.
From the basics of learning to “pop” and riding the white wash, you’ll soon progress to riding unbroken waves, learning about ocean safety and become a confident and competent surfer.
Combined with classroom theory lessons, 4 weekly fitness sessions a week, video analysis and highly skilled instructors, your surf skills will quickly progress.
By the time your assessment week rolls around you’ll have developed all the skills you need to pass your ASI Level 1 surf instructor course and go live the dream.
The course also allows you to complete the Ocean Surf Safety Coach Award (OSSCA), Senior First Aid, Advanced Resuscitation and Work with Children Check, so you’ll have everything you need to surf coach all over Australia and the rest of the world.
But it’s not all training and surfing – with the weekends free to explore the surrounding area you could bounce to nearby destinations such as Nimbin, Yamba, the Gold Coast and beyond – so it’s the perfect base to explore this stunning slice of New South Wales.
So if you’re looking to put some serious work into your surfing, want to kick back and relax in one of Australias top destinations and live the dream – well the Byron Bay Surf Instructor Course is exactly what you’ve been looking for!
Start: Sydney, Byron Bay or Brisbane
I had the best time here doing the three months academy program. The instructors were really nice and always helpful. I lived with amazing people and made some friends for life. The food was delicious and every night there was something different. The instructor lessons were a lot of fun and the instructors really helped me with how to be a good instructor and gave a lot of tips especially outside of the instructor lessons (e.g. during lessons or free surf). If I struggled with something, I could always talk to them at anytime and they gave me great advice. The fitness program was a good preparation for the qualifications and also to get in shape. I really enjoyed the yoga classes. I would recommend this place to anybody who wants to learn how to surf, be an instructor or just enjoy life. Yeeew ?
