With that in mind it’s always best to arrive and depart Padang a day before your booked trip.
Had a great trip up at MIA for 11 nights and I can’t praise Stuart enough for being an epic manager/ surf guide / photographer/ chef / great guy. He really made our trip. The view from the camp is unbeatable, situated right on Nipussi which is the most consistent wave in the playgrounds area. My buddy and I scored the camp to ourselves the whole time and often were the only ones out in the line up. We took the boat for several days as well and Stu made some great calls on uncrowded spots to surf – dogs reef, A frames, burger world and good times. There are plenty of waves to suit all abilities. The only negatives were the lack of food options and the power outage from 11pm to 7am on the hot nights without a fan. Most nights were cool enough though and the rate is deeply discounted so I don’t want to come down too hard given the circumstances.
The local staff are all great and I’d 100% go back again. Highly recommended and hopefully be back up there again this year.
