19 WEEKS OF SURF & ADVENTURE!

THE TRIP

Most surf trips last a week. Some last a month. This one lasts nearly five.

19 weeks across three countries, two continents and two oceans — starting on the Garden Route out of Cape Town and finishing on the west coast of Bali. In between: South Africa’s most iconic surf spots, a 4×4 adventure through Mozambique, island hopping through Indonesia, and enough waves, road miles and memories to last a lifetime.

The BIG Surf Adventure combines the legendary 13-week South Africa and Mozambique Surf Instructor Course with 6 weeks of surfing and adventure in Indonesia. The Africa leg builds the skills and the qualifications. The Indonesia leg puts them to work in some of the best and most varied surf in the world. By the end of it, you’ll surf better, hold a globally recognised surf instructor qualification, and have travelled through three of the most talked about surf destinations on the planet.

Suitable for all levels of surfer, this is 19 weeks of progression, coaching and adventure that are hard to beat.

THE ITINERARY

Weeks 1–10 — South Africa

The trip starts in Cape Town and spends 10 weeks working up the coastline to Durban, surfing nine different locations along the way, including the likes of Cape Town, J’Bay and off the beaten track in Coffee Bay

With heaps of included adventures – from climbing  Table Mountain and meeting the Boulders Beach penguins, through to winery tours and even bungee jumping – this is as much about the experiences as it is the surf!

And of course across the 10 weeks your coaches will prep you for the ISA Level 1 examination in Durban, finishing your time in South Africa by gaining a world recognised certification.

Weeks 11–13 — Mozambique

Load up the 4x4s, cross the Kosi Bay border and head north through some of the most spectacular and remote coastal scenery on the African continent. Three weeks covering Ponta do Ouro, Tofo Beach and Pomene, a rarely visited right-hand sand point tucked behind dirt roads that most visiting surfers never reach. Fuelled throughout by fresh prawns, peri peri chicken and a pace of life that resets everything.

Weeks 14–19 — Indonesia

From empty coastlines to island hopping – you’ll finish things off with six weeks island hopping through some of the best surf in Southeast Asia. Covering Bali, Lombok and Nusa Lembongan you’ll paddle out at some of the most talked about lineups on the planet and take everything to the next level.
