Not only will your kick back and enjoy the incredible waves of Byron Bay and the Northern New South Wales coastline – but your host will be non other than Matt Wilkinson – aka Wilko!
Former World Tour Surfer, Quiksilver Pro winner and ringer of the famous Bells Beach trophy , Matt “Wilko” Wilkinson is renowned for epic power surfing, fun times and a good streak of partying!
A full luxury surf experience, Weekend At Wilkos is based out of Wilkos Friday Hut Road Estate – an incredible property in the Hinterland just behind the world famous Byron Bay – which comes complete with private pool, wood fired pizza over, 6 rooms and epic views.
From here Wilko – alongside professional surf coach Johnny Gannon – will take you out to the best break this stretch of coastline has to offer and push your surfing to the next level.
With 2 coaching sessions per day you’ll run through what you want to progress and be given all the tools to make it happen. Included in this are video and photo analysis of all your session – which will be viewed in your own private cinema back at the house!
As well as al the beach and in water coaching you’ll receive during your Weekend At Wilkos, you’ll get expert surfboard advice from Darren Handley (aka DHD Surfboards) and optional classes on breathe hold exercises (something all our team are huge fans of) and even ice baths to help those aching muscles.
You’ll be well fed throughout with all your gourmet meals included – so get ready to fire up the BBQ and crack a cold one on the patio with Wilko as you wind down for the evening and chat about your day in the waves or some of his stories from time on the tour.
And as an added bonus if you’ve got a group of buddies who are keen to join (min 4) you can book a totally exclusive Weekend At Wilkos, which is fully customisable. So if you fancy a round of golf one afternoon he can make it happen.

Well a whole heap of fun!
You don’t need to be a pro surfer either – this luxury surf experience is as much about having fun and enjoying Byron Bay as it is about the epic waves on offer.
For private group bookings you just need to let us know your level of coaching and for those booking on solo or with a friend to an existing group date we’ll pair you up with a similar level of surfers.
After your airport pickup you’ll head back to Wilkos Friday Hut Estate – your base for the weekend – where you’ll settle in, wax up your boards and catch up with Wilko before heading out to find some waves, joined by professional surf coach Jonny Gannon
Time to get your dawn patrol on the go as Wilko takes you out to score the best surf along the NSW Coastline. Whether you’re looking for open faces to practice your turns or some fun wedges to nail your punts it’s on hand.
After refuelling with a gourmet brekkie you’ll talk through the morning session before heading out for more waves in the arvo.
Kick back in the private cinema and run through your video & photo analysis before an epic evening meal…BBQ anyone?
Time for another day filled with waves as Wilko and the team help you work on your skills form the previous few days of training. You’ll also get some expert advice on the right board setup to get under your feet from Darren “DHD” Handley before finishing up your Weekend At Wilkos with some cold beers by the pool.
