If you’re looking for a luxury Maldives surf resort that offers up uncrowded waves and is slightly off the beaten track then Ayada Maldives is the option you’ve been looking for.
Situated in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, in the southern end of the Southern Atolls, this beautiful slice of paradise is well worth the extra travel time, especially during the main surf season of February to April and September to November.
And with an array of surf spots all within a short boat ride from the island resort, every level of surfer is catered for and the in-house surf guide Jeeko will make sure you score the best waves on the days swell and conditions.
Beginners can enjoy the long, playful walls of Antiques, and intermediates can dial in their turns at the likes of Tiger Stripes or the ever-reliable Love Charms.
More advanced surfers are well taken care of too – with fast hollow sections on offer at Blue Bowls (which is always a guest favorite) right through to the heavy, unforgiving barrels at Beacons, which will keep even the most experienced surfers on their toes.
Ranking amongst the top 25 resorts worldwide, Ayada Maldives is luxurious in every way – from the huge spa complex and 8 resorts dotted around the island, right through to the array of rooms, including the decadent Ocean Suites.
When you’re not busy enjoying the waves, relax with a post surf massage, snorkel at the pristine house reef, enjoy one of the many non-surfing activities on offer or kick back by one of the numerous swimming pools across the resort, perhaps with a cold cocktail in hand!
If you’re looking to get away from it all, score some uncrowded waves, and indulge in some Maldives beauty, Ayada Maldives is a perfect choice.
Malé Airport, Maldives
As one of the most consistent waves in the Atoll this is always a favorite, especially for intermediate surfers. On the right swell and tide, the two main sections link up, offering a long, fun ride.
A super consistent left-hander that serves up a long, walling ride perfect for dialing in your turns
Fast, shallow, and with plenty of opportunities for barrels, Five Islands is best left to advanced surfers and can handle some serious size.
Certainly one of the most loved surf spots in the Atoll, Blue Bowls offers some long, right handers that advanced surfers will love. Suitable on all tides, this leg burner will leave you with a big smile on your face for sure!
An A frame offering both lefts and rights, with long playful walls. A bigger swell is needed for Two Ways to light up, but when it does it’s always heaps of fun.
Beacons is for pros only – heavy, unforgiving and breaking across a super shallow reef. But if your skills are up for it, this challenging wave is worth the rewards.
Another split peak option, although the right-hander is certainly better. Ideal with a larger swell, its long, running walls are ideal for beginners dialing in their green wave surfing.
