    3 Week Mozambique Surf Trip
Get off the beaten track with empty, tropical waves!

Surfers across the world dream of empty waves, a slow pace of life and travels off the beaten path—and our 3 Week Surf Adventure in Mozambique couldn’t fit that description any better.

Starting in Durban, you’ll load your boards onto a 4×4 and begin the drive into the unknown, where white, sandy beaches meet warm, clear waves and surf-strewn coastlines.

Whether you’re a newbie surfer or a seasoned veteran, this trip will give you access to all manner of waves and really help push your skills to the next level.

Throughout the 3 weeks you’ll have some of South Africa’s best surf coaches on hand to help refine your technique and make the most of the breaks on offer.

Despite the feeling of being off the map, you’ll kick back with a solid level of comfort, welcomed by the locals and enjoying the two main trip stops—Tofo and Pomene —both of which have incredible accommodation just a short stroll from the surf and a refreshing pool to relax in as well.

Tofo is a small coastal village that was put on the map for its world class scuba diving, but what you’ll be heading there for is the world class waves!

Boardshorts, bikinis and sun-drenched line-ups are the order of the day. There’s one simple plan: surf all day!

There’s numerous dive shops in town and a good local infrastructure; there’s a couple of restaurants to choose from, and also heaps of local markets and street food stalls serving up some great food to refuel after a long day in the water.

Pomene lies at the end of a sand road drive, making the most of your 4×4 transport for the kind of trip pulled straight out of a surf movie!

The sand bottom right-hand point break here serves up long rides that will have your legs aching for more, but some cold beers will definitely help warm you down after heaps of water time.

If you fancy a lay day, or in the rare eventuality the surf isn’t pumping, you can head out on an ocean safari to cruise alongside the local dolphins and giant manta rays. If luck’s on your side you may even be joined by a whale shark or two!

If you want a unique adventure packed full of world-class waves then you can’t go wrong with this experience. You’ll leave tanned, smiling, and wondering why you aren’t staying for longer!

    Itinerary

    Week 1Welcome To Mozambique

After a long drive and a stopover near Maputo you’ll reach your destination of Tofo and head straight for a surf. The first week in Tofo is spent settling into the area and getting to know the waves. You’ll soon enjoy two long surfs each day in the tropical water and yoga lessons to boot.

    Week 2Pushing Your Surfing

The second week in Tofo will see you push your surfing to new heights. The Trip Leaders will film and photograph sessions to get your surfing to the next level. You will also put the cars into 4*4 mode and go on a day trip to find a different wave, as well as experience the natural high of an ocean safari.

    Week 3Pomene And Beyond

You will head to Pomene,, for one of the best right sand-bottom points out there. The final night in Durban will be spent at the Mozam-bik restaurant, where you’ll reminisce on what was the trip of a lifetime. Your footsteps in the sand will fade away, but your memories won’t.

I had such a super fun trip! Mozam was amazing – lots of waves and no people! My surfing improved and I had great fun with Tim and Ryan and everyone else. Being able to swim with whale sharks and dolphins was a once in a lifetime experience.
