Well, this 10 week surf instructor course ticks all the boxes for the perfect way to turn the beach into your office and even includes a guaranteed job offer afterwards!
This course is the original Sri Lanka Surf Instructor Course and has the best coaches in the country – your seriously experienced surf instructors are led by ex-world tour surfer and head coach Nikita Robb, so you couldn’t be in better hands!
After rendezvousing with your new surf buddies in Ahangama you’ll start things off by heading over to the East Coast and the world-famous Arugam Bay, embarking on your surfing journey riding the reeling, sand-bottom point breaks, learning the fundamentals, and enjoying some of the longest waves of your life.
It’s not all about the surf though, you’ll also enjoy yoga sessions, a National Park Tour, and an elephant lagoon tour before heading to the West Coast.

Welcome to your base for the rest of the course!
With daily surf coaching, video analysis, theory classes, and guided surfs, you’ll quickly progress and be able to take advantage of the wide array of surf spots dotted along the Sri Lankan coastline. All are complemented by surf-specific yoga sessions.
After four and a half weeks of surf training and ocean time, it’s time to mix things up taking a bit of a break, as you head off on a week-long tour of the Hill Country Tour to discover more of the beauty of Sri Lanka.
Tea plantations, temples, local markets, the world-famous Ella to Kandy train journey, and climbing the famous Adam’s Peak to watch the sunrise from 5000ft – it’s the perfect rest bite and culture hit before getting back into the surf training.
Once you’re back at the Surf House things kick up a notch and you’ll be progressing your surfing even further, with daily coaching and feedback to prepare you for your ISA Level 1 exams.
Your course presenter, Chris Bond, has over 15 years of experience running surf instructor courses around the world, as well as coaching professional surfers and even the South African Olympic Surf Team, so you’re in the best hands to learn from and pass your exams.
After passing your instructor exams, you’ll be all set for your newfound career path – and to help you kickstart your career you’ll be introduced via email to the owners of the courses sister surf camp, with a guaranteed job interview!
